PEL PAST

The original PEL images shown above are taken from advertisements used in the 1950’s which were published in Punch Magazine, they demonstrate the major distribution of tubular steel furniture that the company used to produce back in the early years of the business.

1931
PEL was originally formed in 1931 as "Practical Equipment Limited" (PEL).

1989
Bought by a private company which specialised in retail interiors/shopfitting. The vision was to introduce furniture manufacturing methods into the shopfitting arena. Investment in machinery and process started the transformation.

1995
In June of 1995 following the request of various Blue Chip PEL customers, PEL Project Management was formed as an installation provider to the interior fit-out market.

2001
In 2001 the group was subject to a management buyout which resulted in the formation of a new holding company for the PEL Group, the Support Services Group plc (SSG) to aid external perception of the group’s full offer.

2004
The holding group (SSG) reverts back to THE PEL GROUP and the Pel brand's renowned for their quality, reliability, and commitment to customer service, continue to develop new and fresh initiatives in order to continually lead the interior fit-out sector.

2006
PEL is acquired by Norwest Holst part of VINCI PLC and renamed PEL Interiors.
